Speaker:  Pete Behrens, Agile Leadership Journey

Pete Behrens develops leaders to transform themselves and their organizations to improve business outcomes. Pete is the founder of the Agile Leadership Journey, a collaborative community of leadership trainers and coaches built on a philosophy that agile organizations only emerge from agile leaders, and who share a passion to build better leaders.

Pete is the host of the (Re)Learning Leadership Podcast, for leaders, by leaders. Podcast episodes explore real leader stories and experts who help diagnose them for all of us to learn to be better leaders.

As a thought leader in agile leadership, Pete is a Certified Agile Leadership (CAL) Educator, a Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC) and emeritus Certified Scrum Trainer (CST). For the Scrum Alliance, Pete codeveloped the CEC program in 2007 and the CAL program in 2016.

When Pete isn’t visiting clients across the globe (or virtually during the pandemic), he is probably biking or golfing near Boulder, CO.

It's hard to escape agility in the workplace today. Most companies across the globe are either desiring it, bragging about it, or selling it. Yet, agility is still an elusive concept that's often misunderstood and even worse, misapplied in business.

Pete Behrens, founder of the Agile Leadership Journey, shares his 20-year experience with organizational agility as a leader himself, a consultant for clients, and now as a leadership educator and coach. Pete shares how leaders have become over-dependent upon agile frameworks and consultants, and need to take personal ownership of themself and their organization's culture to enable more agile ways of working and improve business performance.

"I love the peer groups that CAITC has established. I love that I can connect, network, and learn from local IT professionals in my field. I also appreciate connecting with peer groups that I don’t always identify with and learn about opportunities to support and advocate for others. Thank you CAITC for building this community, both in person and virtually!"

"As a founding member of the Capital Area IT Council, our small IT firm has benefitted immensely from our continued participation in the CAITC. I have personally benefitted from CAITC-sponsored training programs, such as the IT Project Management course that I attended, which in turn has helped me to better manage clients/projects and generate new business for my company, while also creating new opportunities to grow professionally."
